Community Guidelines
The following Community Guidelines are here to help you understand what it means to be part of the BlockChalk community in your neighborhood. Your use of BlockChalk is subject to these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.
DO THIS AWESOME STUFF...
Make BlockChalk Yours: BlockChalk is for you, your neighbors and your community. Use it to make your home neighborhood a better place. We'll do whatever we can to help!
Respect Your Neighbors: BlockChalk is open to everyone and not everyone sees the world in the same way. Be respectful of different opinions, ideas and ways of getting through this crazy ride we call life.
Celebrate Your Neighborhood: BlockChalk gives everyone in your community a voice. Make that voice a positive one and the spirit and vibe of where you live are sure to follow.
Participate in Your Community: BlockChalk gives you some tools to help moderate the voices in your neigborhood. The "bury" feature, for example, allows the community to remove an unwanted post. Use it wisely.
Keep it Local: Deal with people that you can meet with in person. It's much harder for someone to be a jackass when they know you might see them in the neighborhood later in the week.
Respect Your Personal Privacy: Think carefully before posting personally-identifiable information like emails, exact addresses and phone numbers.
Be Smart: If someone is advertising a product, service or offer that seems too good to be true....it probably is. Keep your money where it's safe...in your pocket.
Be Safe: The actual percentage of people with bad intentions in the world is quite small, but they do exist. Use the following tips when getting together with someone you met on BlockChalk:
- Meet in a public place.
- Bring your mobile phone.
- Tell a friend where you're going.
- Even better... bring a friend.
DON'T DO THIS RATHER LAME STUFF...
Don't Be a Criminal: Don't post anything that is illegal or encourages illegal activity.
Don't Be a Hater: Don't post anything that promotes discrimination, bigotry, racism, hatred, harassment or harm against any individual or group.
Don't Share Your Porn: With so many opportunities for porn on the Internet, must you share it on BlockChalk? We'd prefer you didn't.
Don't Be a Spammer: Spam is like porn....you know it when you see it. Spam usually comes in the form of unsolicited, repetitive postings.
Don't Be Creepy: No one wants to deal with a creepy stalker person in the neighborhood. Avoid being that person, always.
At BlockChalk we're trying to create a vibrant digital community for your local neighborhood. We crafted these guidelines to help further this goal. If you don't think that you can abide by these guidelines, you may be asked to leave BlockChalk.
For a more detailed explanation of what this means in mind-numbing legalese please refer to our Terms of Service. Questions, comments, feedback? We're here for you: wecantakeit@blockchalk.com.
